The tables were turned as professional selling students presented to the firms, a unique reversal of the traditional career fair.
STATESBORO, GA (September 22, 2026) – In a fitting conclusion to the fall 2026 Career Showcase Week on the Statesboro campus of 91ɬ, the Center for Sales Excellence and the local Gamma Lambda chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) hosted its first-ever Fall Reverse Sales Talent Showcase. More than 20 firms, including , , , , and , visited the personal displays of 54 professional selling students at 91ɬ, a reversal of roles from the traditional career fair. The inaugural event provided the members of PSE the opportunity to pitch themselves to the companies, showcasing their talents, ambitions, professionalism, and desire to hone their craft in professional selling.

“The opportunity to participate in the university’s first-ever Reverse Career Fair was such a unique and rewarding experience,” notes , a Senior majoring in Marketing with an emphasis in Sales & Sales Management from the Parker College of Business. “We were able to showcase who we are beyond a résumé, connecting with so many incredible companies. As president of the Gamma Lambda chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon, I was especially proud to see our members take advantage of such a great opportunity. Innovative events like these remind me how proud I am to say I’m an Eagle!”
The Center for Sales Excellence feels that it is vital for our students to learn from and engage with current, working sales practitioners. Using this holistic approach to sales education, the relationships formed at events, such as the Reverse Sales Talent Showcase, are invaluable to student development. This reversal of the traditional career fair provided the students with a platform to highlight his/her background, enhance their networking ability, demonstrate their creative presentation skills, and refine his/her professionalism. The students were encouraged to develop an elevator pitch, learning to develop a concise talk track when provided with a brief opportunity to sell themselves to a company executive in 60-seconds or less.
“The Reverse Career Fair challenged me to put myself and my experiences at the forefront,” observes , a Junior majoring in Marketing with an emphasis in Sales & Sales Management from the Parker College of Business. “It was a fantastic opportunity to step outside of the traditional career fair format and take ownership of my own personal brand. It was a great experience putting my communication skills into practice and connecting directly with employers!”

“In years past, the Center for Sales Excellence would host a traditional career fair, and it was fine; everyone seemed to enjoy it. The only issue, it would be the fourth career fair hosted on campus in a three-day period, which seemed redundant,” explains , Senior Lecturer of Marketing and Executive Director of the Center for Sales Excellence. “This year we decided to shake things up by turning the tables, with the students presenting to the firms. Many students find large career fairs overwhelming, with it difficult to hold meaningful conversations with the employers. In this approach, the company interacts with the student in a one-on-one format, less intimidating and more productive for all. Everyone seemed to enjoy the change in pace.”

The Fall Reverse Sales Talent Showcase would not be possible without the support of the Sales Center’s corporate partners. Partners in attendance included , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , and .

About the National Collegiate Sales Competition (NCSC)
The , founded in 1999, provides a venue for dedicated collegiate sales students to improve their skills and pursue career opportunities with top professional sales organizations. One of the largest and the longest-running, worldwide sales competitions, the NCSC facilitates the engagement of industry sales leaders with leading sales professors from across the U.S. Graduates from participating schools enjoy a 30% lower turnover rate and a 50% faster ramp-up time compared to other entry-level sales hires.

The challenge has been accepted by four competitive sales students from the Parker College of Business at Bryant University’s annual sales competition.
STATESBORO, GA (Dec. 8, 2025) – The 14th annual (NISC) hosted nearly 350 sales students representing 43 U.S. and Canadian universities. Themed in 2025 as “Challenge Accepted,” NISC provided the student competitors with the keys to their future success in an action-packed two-day event that included challenges, skill development sessions, and networking opportunities.
Held in-person at in Smithfield, Rhode Island, NISC’s programming included a role-play competition, in which students go through the stages of a 10-minute sales meeting with a fictional company, and a speed-selling competition, in which they pitch themselves to a company representative and explain why the representative should hire them. The fast-paced rounds help competitors develop and hone their rapport-building, needs identification, presentation, communication, and closing skills, among others.
NISC also allows the student competitors to benchmark their abilities and determine where they need to improve. The competition’s judges — representatives from partnering corporate organizations — not only score the students’ performances but also offer individualized feedback and coaching.
Members of the competitive sales team from Georgia Southern’s , included:

Compared to my first opportunity to travel almost a year ago, this trip to Rhode Island, I could genuinely see how much I’ve improved in my confidence, preparedness, and motivation!” exclaims Mr. Joseph Tarwater, a senior marketing major with an emphasis in sales & sales management. “Being surrounded by a team that thinks like me and who are hungry to succeed in sales has pushed me to grow. For any student looking to level up their sales skills and stand out from other peers, this experience is truly unmatched!”

“My time in Rhode Island at NISC is a college experience I will forever remember! Networking, career coaching, and interview prep with industry sales practitioners were on the agenda at the 2026 Center for Sales Excellence Showcase Boot Camp.
STATESBORO, GA (February 26, 2026) – A grand finale to 91ɬ’s Career Showcase Week on the Statesboro campus, more than 400 undergraduates made the most of the opportunity at the 10th anniversary of the Showcase Boot Camp. Learning directly from industry practitioners, these highly motivated students met with sales professionals and recruiters from twenty-one partner firms, including , , , , and . The Showcase Boot Camp prepares students for a successful transition from college-to-career, taking the business undergraduates from the classroom to the boardroom.
First begun in 2017 with the support of the , the Showcase Boot Camp has become a campus-wide success, allowing firms the opportunity to get close, face-to-face interaction with the best and brightest that Georgia Southern has to offer. This event is designed to be part educational and part networking opportunity, all of which are important aspects as you transition from student to professional.

“The Showcase Boot Camp is as close as it gets to a real boardroom, while still being on campus,” observes , a Senior majoring in Marketing with an emphasis in Sales & Sales Management from the Parker College of Business.
“Having the chance to sit down and conduct realistic interview conversations with corporate coaches has been a game-changer for me. Over the past couple of years, this event has definitely been one of the biggest factors in helping me feel ready and confident for my interviews. There’s nothing like the Boot Camp!”
The Showcase Boot Camp is designed to provide small-group interaction between students and industry leaders. Every 15 minutes the corporate coaches rotate to a new table of students to discuss the next interview topic. The interview topics discussed are provided by the coaches, as some of the most frequent questions a student might encounter in a job interview for their first sales position. The coaches provide guidance on how to best approach the question, and then amongst the table, each student discusses from their unique perspective. Once the time is up, the coaches rotate to the next table, meeting a whole new group of students and discussing a new interview question.
Throughout the Showcase Boot Camp, networking time is built into the schedule so that the corporate coaches and students can get to know each other on a personal level, discussing their firm’s respective culture, corporate initiatives, and upcoming hiring opportunities.

“The Boot Camp is another example of the holistic approach to sales education that we offer to our marketing and sales students at 91ɬ,” explains , Senior Lecturer of Marketing and Executive Director of the Center for Sales Excellence.
Our students love the opportunity to network and gain hands-on experience with active recruiters and active sales professionals. The relationships formed at this event are a true win-win for the program, our corporate partners, and most importantly, the students as they embark on prosperous careers in professional selling.”
